Abstract

The Toxic Gas Poisoning Identification Expert System adopts the Certainty Factor (CF) method to analyze based on the symptoms that occur. Certainty Factor method is the level of certainty of the system against a fact or rule to produce a diagnosis. The best Certainty Factor value based on the highest Certainty Factor value to produce a more optimal level of trust. The form of research used is a case study with the research method used is Research and Development (R & D), data collection methods in the form of primary data, namely interviews with an expert, while, secondary data is using documentation study methods. Software design method uses UML (Unified Modeling Language). System test results show that the system is able to identify toxic gas poisoning based on the symptoms that exist even though these symptoms contain uncertainty which is presented together with the solution of solutions based on the results of identification using Certainty Factor. The identification results are accompanied by Certainty Factor values that show the level of truth of the identification results. The test results show the comparison of Software and experts respectively 78.1% and 68.5%.
